Earlier today, an employee at TT Games (LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Batman) leaked a photo via Twitter of what is believed to be the new design of the Wii U controller. Among the changes are the analog sticks replacing the Circle Pads, the movement of the Start and Select buttons, and other smaller changes. Will this be the final design of the controller said to be revealed at E3 this June? Only time will tell.
List of changes:

This week, we jump back down to two new games. However, there is also a great free demo available to soften the blow.
The original GameBoy title Kirby’s Block Ball can be downloaded from the 3DS eShop. In addition, you can get a demo of the retail 3DS game Rayman Origins! The only brand new game this week comes in the form of Chronicles of Vampires: The Awakening for DSiWare.
Also worth mentioning is the Mario Kart 7 online multiplayer patch. This is now available in the eShop, and it will patch three courses previously containing glitches. You must download this patch to play online.
Finally, tomorrow marks the day for the Men in Black 3 trailer to hit the Nintendo Video app on the 3DS. You probably want to check this out, especially if you are excited about the movie, since it is in 3D and free!
Be sure to check out the price list and official press release below, and let us know if you download a game/app and what you think.

Mario Party is at the top spot, while a new PS3 multiplayer title takes fourth; PS Vita slides down to four-digit sales numbers.
After the Golden Week period, sales in Japan were expected to take a slow turn. This was evident with this week's recent Media Create update for the week of May 7 to May 13. Regardless, Mario Party 9 was still the top-selling game for the week. The Wii title's numbers went down from 152,883 to 37,353.
Starhawk's Emmet Graves isn't too happy about partying plumbers raining on his debut.
The PS3 version of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City also went down in sales. The third-person shooter's sales numbers went from 252,525 to 14,553 units, and it was at third place.
Speaking of Sony's console, the multiplayer action game Starhawk was the only new title that made its debut in Japan. Sony's PS3 title was at fourth place, with 12,873 units sold. The game was praised for its diverse combat, visuals, and cooperative play; check out GameSpot's review for more information on the title.
Other than that, portable games ruled the top 10 roost for the week. Fire Emblem: Kakusei stood strong at second place, with 16,530 units sold, while Super Mario 3D Land was holding the middle ground, with 11,260 units sold. Capping off the list was the sole PSP entry, Conception: Please Have My Children! The game sold 4,600 copies.
On the hardware side of things, the 3DS numbers went down from 91,868 to 46,425 units, while the Wii went from 15,789 to 6,073 units. The PS Vita went down from 10,583 to a staggering 6,340 units.

Game – Bird Mania 3DStory
The story – which is told through static screens and is viewable from the main menu – is about a bird named Mojo who’s overslept and was left behind as all the other birds flew south for winter. Now, Mojo has to fly like crazy to catch up to his fellow birds. Yeah, that’s it. The story is simple and forgettable, but that doesn’t matter because the gameplay is the star.
Gameplay and Controls
The gameplay is simple, deceptively so. See, Bird Mania 3D is a score attack game. So your goal varies depending on what you want to do. The main goal of the game is to rack up a high score. In order to this, you can concentrate on how many stars you can collect, or how many balloons you can pop, or how far you can travel and more. There are a variety of ways in which you can rack up the points, it’s all a matter of what your strategy is.
Mojo will move forward automatically and it’s up to you to control his flight path as you control his ascent, descent and turbo boost. Along the way you must avoid trees, although you can fly past their trunks without dying. You must also either avoid enemy birds and wasps or kill them by using your turbo boost to fly into them. You can rack up hi score multipliers by defeating enemy birds, popping balloons and collecting a consecutive amount of stars. One hit will kill you, so be careful. The game also throws a day and night cycle as well as weather at you. The night cycle seems to slow down as to give you a break, but it doesn’t last for long. When you die, a game over screen appears, displaying your score and stats as well as the best score and stats achieved thus far. Kept on record are how many stars you collected, balloons you popped, enemies you hit, hi score multipliers you racked up and the distance you traveled in miles. In all there 50 hi-scores recorded at any one time.
There are a variety of control options, but the one I found to be best, was the stylus. You control the boost with either L or R. You can also use the d-pad, circle pad and the face buttons to control Mojo. Rest assured, there is a control scheme for everyone out there.
Visuals and Sound
The visuals are simple and clean. Everything is a presented in a 2D cartoon style and works great. Mojo’s design is cool, he’s wearing flying goggles and a scarf that flutters behind him in the wind. The trees tend to blend into the background at first, making it easier to crash into them, but I got used to them after just a few deaths. The day and night cycle looks good. The weather isn’t as impressive but it gets the job done. When you get hit – trust me, you will – Mojo’s eyes close in a squint and he comes crashing down at an angle. The sound effects and music are minimal but work together and never become too repetitive. There is only one song in the game (some Celtic music perhaps), but it never gets boring. You’ll like the simplistic, cartoony visuals and the music is sure to entertain you.
Concluding Overall Impressions
Bird Mania 3D is a fast paced, addictive, and fun pick up and play game worth every penny of that $2!
Final Score: 5 out of 5

Over the past weekend, some new Pokemon Black & White 2 details were released by CoroCoro magazine over in Japan. These new details are exciting to say the least, as they seem to add a twist or feature to the story. Cheren, who played the main character’s friend in the first game, is a now a normal-type Gym Leader, and Bianca, a friend of Professor Juniper, gives you the starting Pokemon. Also, Team N is no where to be seen or heard from. The new professor in the game is now Professor Burnett, who is an AR searcher (probably means that the AR feature in the 3DS will be used). Remember that trio of Legendary Pokemon called Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus? Well they all have a new form, with each of them focusing on a new attribute such as speed, attack, and special attack. But the coolest feature that they have added into the game (in my opinion) is called Pokemon World Tournament. This feature will let players battle off against past Gym Leaders such as: Lance, Volkner, Blue, Misty, Steven, Blaine, Janine and Giovanni. No word yet on whether these old Gym Leaders will play a crucial role in the story or just act in a similar way that the Battle Tower did in previous games.

Story
Legend has it that long ago Ketzal, the god of creation, made the sacred shrines. But Koruptal, the god of destruction, stole the source of Ketzal’s power, his hearts. Xolo, Ketzal’s loyal servant, sensed Koruptal’s presence and summoned the mighty guardians to confront him. Xolo and the guardians were defeated. Koruptal broke the spirit world into three lands, cast the guardians out, and scattered Ketzal’s hearts. After that, Koruptal vanished and the lands fell into chaos and disarray. Many years passed and now Xolo has decided to gather the guardians once again (with your help) and try to defeat Koruptal, once and for all, thus awakening Ketzal and restoring order and peace to the spirit world.
Gameplay and Controls
This is where you, the player, comes in. Set across three different lands, players assume control over the guardian from each land. Each guardian has a distinct shape. Every level is on-rails, so as you are pushed forward through the level, you will comes across walls with distinct shapes cut out of them. The goal of each level is to rotate your guardian to fit through the hole in each wall, before you crash into the wall. The real challenge comes when you are having trouble rotating to the correction position, because you have roughly 3 seconds to get it right or you lose. Combined with the timer on each level, you will experience quite a challenge at times. At first, the levels aren’t that difficult, but this will change at a fairly moderate pace. Eventually, you will be enjoying the challenges and the victories that come your way. Most levels have about 20 walls each, this number does fluctuate from time to time as the game goes on.As you busy yourself rotating and flipping, you must also collect the hearts you see in order to unlock the map, gaining access to later levels. Now, if you happen to explore the map and look at all the locked levels, you will see the unlock requirements of each. Some of which state you have to beat ‘x’ level first, but the major component is that you must collect 5,000 hearts before moving on to later levels. Okay, so 5,000 hearts, that’s a lot right? Yes and no. While there is no way you can collect 5,000 hearts one at a time, you can however earn them by performing ‘tricks’. Tricks are essentially combos and the major move in particular is that if you can match your shape to fill every empty spot in a hole, you will collect all the hearts, even the ones you didn’t physically touch. In addition, for every consecutive heart or hearts you collect as you pass through the walls, you will be rewarded with a combo multiplier. So as long as you keep up the trick and the combos, you are sure to reach the 5,000 + mark with a little time and effort.
In addition to the main story mode, you also have access to a few other areas in each of the three lands. First up is the Shrine of Beginning. The Shrine is used to teach you all the positions you can rotate in and allows you to practice through them all at your own pace. Then, there is the Tower of Training, now this is a fun distraction. The first level has you matching ten shapes as you travel up a tower. The same 3 second timer applies here per wall. The second level has you matching 10o shapes, talk about a challenge, in the last few tiers, the 3 seconds drops down to 2! Finally, the third level goes on forever, supposedly and you keep going as long as you can. The goal here is not only to complete the challenges, but to do so in a record time, thus earning medals. The medals and record times are also attainable in every level of the main story mode as well. One final note on gameplay, multiplayer. You can play multiplayer over local wireless or by sharing the 3DS with someone else. In sharing the 3DS, one person using the d-pad to rotate and the other uses the face buttons. The only mode available is “Side by Side” which is a shape matching race. Over local wireless, you can compete in either a “Tower Trial” or a “Ruin Run”. As you can see, there are several reasons to come back and play time and time again.
Now that I have explained how it all works, I want to go back and very briefly introduce you to the 3 guardians you will be controlling. Then, it’s on to controls.
As you can see in the image above, King Prana is the first world guardian, King Leo second and King Croco the third. The Hootzil Bros are part of the side levels and they are some of these most challenging to work with. Looking at King Prana, you can tell he doesn’t have much of a shape to him so there isn’t too much of a challenge when rotating him to the correction position. After King Prana, all bets are off, but in a good way!Alright, so the controls are very easy and straightforward. You can only rotate your guardian in 5 different directions. Press A to rotate to the left one turn, Y to rotate to the right. Press B to rotate backward and X to rotate forward. Your last move is to press R which will rotate your guardian sideways in a clockwise direction. By pressing and holding L you can increase you rate of speed which allows you fly through the level quicker, this is helpful in breaking record times. That’s all there is to the controls, it’s really quite easy to grasp.
Visuals and Sound The Aztec theme is one that I’m not used to seeing and it’s been a refreshing change of scenery, so to speak. The map itself looks hand drawn and is rich in color and details. Not only that, but you can really see the 3D effect when looking at the map. You can see way in the back, the stars and space, then a planet mass down towards the bottom. The next layer up you can see the map itself which actually bobs up and down ever so slightly. The dotted path which you follow along is layered on top of the map itself and finally, the details for each level are layered on top of that. The 3D effect is well done in Ketzal’s Corridors and a nice touch for the visuals. The levels themselves are alright looking, but nothing that will blow you away. Besides, you’ll be too busy concentrating on not smacking into the walls to notice the levels that much. Seriously though, the visuals really quite good and the Aztec theme looks nice. The sound complements the theme as well and it never gets too repetitive or old. To sum it up, visuals are nice, sound is nice. Done!
